The 2022 Spring/Summer MapRun League
The Spring/Summer MapRun league has finally come to an end and what a great series it was! Nine different MapRun activities in nine different locations across the Southampton area followed by drinks in some pleasant pub gardens afterwards.
David Currie took top honours with a virtually unbeaten run of good form. Second place was taken by Andy Snell and third place went to Mike Le Maistre with James Benett and Matthew Chessum hot on his heels. First lady was Rachel Robertson and Lou Light deserves a special mention for turning up for all but one of the events.
Thanks are due to all the nine planners who brought us some really good runs in great areas. Thanks also to David Currie for sorting out the minor glitches which occurred along the way.
We hope to be back soon with runs in new locations. If you would like to plan a MapRun, do let Helen Wheelwright know. See below for a guide to planning a MapRun if you are interested in how things work.
It's been a memorable summer but we can now start to look forward to the start of the forest season. The entries on racesignup.co.uk have opened today for the Hincheslea and Yewtree Bottom event organised by Pete Davis and planned by Marcus White.
Finishing with a quote by Megan Rapinoe on this day of female football frenzy:
"Putting yourself out there is hard, but it is so worth it."
